2024 Volunteer Appreciation Award Ceremony

In recognition of National Volunteer Appreciation month in April, we hosted our annual Volunteer Appreciation Awards and Reception. We are so grateful to all of our NFNL Volunteers! Your devotion, love, and selfless acts elevate our mission and have impacted countless lives.

Volunteer Opportunities

At New Friends New Life, we believe everyone has something to contribute, so we place individuals where they are most passionate and gifted to aid the women, youth and children in the following programs: 

Women’s Program

Youth Resource Center (YRC)

Children’s Program

Economic Empowerment Program

Men’s Advocacy Program (auxiliary group)

Circle of Friends (auxiliary group)

 

To become a volunteer:

  1. Find an opportunity that is of interest to you

  2. Create an account on our volunteer page

  3. After your account has been created, you will receive a notification when the next General Orientation is scheduled

  4. If volunteering at the ProtectHER and DefendHER levels, please check emails for Intensive Training notifications

  5. Meal Donation (For All Programs)

New Friends New Life Hours of Operation: Monday - Thursday 9am - 8pm and Fridays 9am - 3pm.

Low Involvement Opportunities
  • Women’s snack donations

  • Women’s item donations

  • Women’s meal donations

  • YRC item donations

  • YRC family dinner donations

  • YRC grocery list fulfillment

  • Children’s item donations

ProtectHER level

  • Dinner set-up/take-down (Wednesday nights)

  • Special events assistance (holiday celebrations, birthdays, baby showers, others)

  • Guest teach a class (must be specialized or licensed to teach something that can be related to Occupational, Physical, Mental or Spiritual Wellness. Examples include meditation, painting, DIY beauty products, cooking, budgeting)

DefendHER level

  • Childcare

  • Academic tutor (looking for experience tutors in GED, ACT/SAT and subject specific matters)

  • On-going classes (if you are licensed and looking to teach a weekly class. Examples: Zumba, Art, Yoga)

  • Professional mentor (one on one mentoring for a woman looking for a job in your field. This is subject to availability)
